When in doubt, tell a story🔥

Hi friend,
We have another new moon today.
(Even though the last one doesn’t feel that far in the past, does it?)
I can feel winter ending, and yet it also feels like it barely came.
I’m probably speaking too soon, though. Another winter storm is likely just around the corner (for the Hudson Valley anyway).
Winter, especially its end, always seems to come in waves —
Waves are something a dear friend and I have been speaking a lot about lately.
There are always going to be ups and downs in life and business, and it’s definitely harder to market (or work on your business in any way) during dips. So here’s my advice…
When in doubt, tell a story.
When we think about marketing, we tend to focus a lot on tactics. How to write the most compelling headlines, or the highest-converting funnel.
It’s not necessarily bad to focus on all that — but what your audience really cares about is your story. To be invited into it alongside you.
That’s all marketing really is, at its core. Storytelling.
✨ Your weekly marketing prompt ✨
So this new moon, I invite you to simply tell a story.
Pretend your newsletter, social media account, podcast, etc is a literal campfire on a moonless, star filled night.
Start by telling the story of how you got started. Or one of your “false starts” (we all have them in business, right?) Just write — follow a tangent if it invites you and see where it goes.
Then edit, and share.
Until next week,
Nicole
