Marketing through ✨Big Life Things✨

The below is from my weekly newsletter. The goal of each and every email is to deliver thought-provoking and actionable prompts that help you market to your audience in a way that feels true to your creative self. Learn more and sign up here.

Hi friend,

So short story is I’ve been going through what I'd call a Big Life Thing since November.

I might get into more details in the future, but for now suffice it to say that more than one of my identities went through an abrupt shift.

I’m still not quite sure where it will all land (ah, how silly that my brain expects to “land” anywhere. As if change isn’t constant!).

So the question I'm posing to both of us is: how do you continue to market and show up for your business during the big life things?

And the answer is: you don’t have to.

For about a month, I did the bare minimum in my business as I dealt with this. I wish I hadn’t even had to do that, but, you know, capitalism.

Anyway, it turns out what they say about rest is true. So if you’re also going through a big life thing, my only advice is to accept that it’s hard and allow yourself and your business as much rest as possible.

But I don’t want to leave you without a marketing prompt this week, so let’s try this one!

🔊 Your weekly marketing prompt 🔊

Think back to one of your Big Life Things. Pick one that’s far enough in the past, you can see it from above — you know, the whole picture.

Just write about it for a bit, and then start to zero in on the you before and the you after. Can you draw a storytelling line between this transformation and something in your business? The way you run it perhaps? A vendor you work with? Why you find it so much harder to work without a plant on your desk?

This doesn’t need to be some big aha. But see what story you can tell. And then see if you can use that in your own marketing. As always, you can reply to this email if you want to chat with me about how to take any of these prompts to the next step.

Until next week,
Nicole

P.S. I’ve launched a brand new, very accessible way to work with me! It’s called “Do It With You” copy, and it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Learn more here.
